ABOUT NATOMAS
Homes
South Natomas, along the American River, has older single-family streets and condominium complexes. North Natomas was built mostly from the 1990s onward in planned sections such as Natomas Park, Westlake, Regency Park and Natomas Crossing. Construction paused from 2008 to June 2015 while FEMA levee standards were updated, and new homes now sell again.
Getting Around
Interstate 80 crosses the middle of Natomas, and Interstate 5 and Highway 99 run along its edges. Downtown Sacramento is several miles south. SacRT Route 11 serves Natomas and North Natomas. Light rail does not reach Natomas today. In July 2026 SacRT received a state grant to study a Green Line link to Sacramento International Airport.
Parks, Shops and Daily Life
North Natomas Regional Park has ball fields, playgrounds, two dog parks, a water spray area and a farmers market structure. South Natomas Community Park and Discovery Park, where the American and Sacramento rivers meet, add trails and picnic areas. Shopping centers include Natomas Marketplace, The Promenade at Sacramento Gateway, Park Place and Truxel Station.
New Homes in Natomas
Lennar is building Northlake in North Natomas near the airport, in seven neighborhoods named Wavmor, Shor, Bleau, Drifton, Crestvue, Lakelet and Watersyde. The community has waterfront homesites, a pool, a clubhouse and a park. Part of Northlake sits on the former Greenbriar site. Availability changes often, and the builder's sales office represents the builder, not the buyer.
