Getting Around
Interstate 80 runs along the north side of South Natomas and Interstate 5 along the west, with interchanges at Garden Highway, West El Camino Avenue and Northgate Boulevard. Downtown is a few minutes south across the American River on Interstate 5 or Northgate Boulevard, and the airport is north on Interstate 5. Truxel Road, Northgate Boulevard and San Juan Road are the main streets inside the neighborhood, and SacRT buses run on Northgate Boulevard, Truxel Road and West El Camino Avenue. There is no light rail in South Natomas.
Parks, Shops and Daily Life
Discovery Park sits where the American River meets the Sacramento River, with picnic areas, a boat launch and access to the American River Parkway trail that runs along the south edge of the neighborhood. Natomas Oaks Park and South Natomas Community Park are inside the neighborhood, and the South Natomas Library is on Truxel Road. Shops, grocery stores and restaurants line Northgate Boulevard, West El Camino Avenue and Truxel Road.
